Getting Started with the Intranet
Welcome to the TQT intranet! To get the most out of this platform, there’s some things you’ll have to do.
Set your custom password
When your account was first made, it was given a random password. For security reasons, you’re better off with a password of your own making.
To make your own password:
1. Go to the intranet login page.
2. Click “Forgot your password?” and enter your e-mail address when prompted.
3. Follow the instructions provided in the e-mail to set up your own password.
Set up your profile
You may find it beneficial to use the TQT intranet to communicate with other researchers supported by TQT and learn about their related research activities. To do that, you need to make sure people can find you, and that you’re properly indexed by what you’re involved with and what you’re able to help with. The amount of information you provide is up to you, and will only be visible to other TQT intranet users.
The steps to a functional profile are:
1. Fill out the (optional) profile template:

You can contact me at: [e-mail, phone number, whatever you’re comfortable with. Note that you can be messaged over the intranet, so you can skip this if you’d prefer]
2. Upload a profile picture of your choice [optional]
Set up your project space
If your research group does not have a project space, contact Connor Kelly (john.c.kelly@uwaterloo.ca) or tqt@uwaterloo.ca (after Jan. 1, 2019) to have it made. Every project space is made following a template, but feel free to ask if you would like to have it modified in some way.
